Stay-cation tourists encouraged to explore Arizona
The Arizona Office of Tourism has launched ‘Arizona Passages’ to promote 27 Arizona parks and the 800-mile Arizona trail.
Tina Miller, with the tourism office, says record fuel prices could keep many Arizonans closer to home this summer.
But she says, fortunately, they won’t have to look much further than their own backyards.
“People can hike and fish and horseback ride and there’s the Kartchner Caverns, Yuma territorial prison, all kinds of great things to do. And then there’s also the Arizona Trail which is 800 miles of diversity and scenic pathways.”
